i saw stan getz at the last playboy jazz festival he played at, right before he died. i used to listen to roost quartets a lot when i was feeling low. well, that and all the charlie parker tracks on a smithsonian jazz collection my old man gave me for xmas one year.
have you heard the stuff he did with mccoy tyner and johnny hartman? man that album is good, their version of lush life is unbelievable. and he did epistrophy with monk, that's another of my all time coltrane faves.

YES! all the way!
Epistrophy, the icing on the cake
My gosh good music is such a wonderful thing!
Thanks Alex, I think I'll record a video of me singing it, I've been told I sing it very well, mind you, with a slightly French accent it might be as the Portuguese one
I've been singing Brazilian and Portuguese (LOVE fado) music for about 15 years and I feel like I'm in heaven every time...
Want to keep on learning Portuguese but then, I need to focus on Spanish cause in California it's pretty handy...
I've never seen the video before - the girls clothes and the expression on the guy in the band's face made me laugh . I always imagined her singing this on the beach not with snow in the background!

I thought so, too. I'd probably do playback like that if I were taped.
